About us:
Hello! I'm Preston. I have been doing art since I was a little kid. I started out drawing in crayon on paper plates along with Bob Ross and his happy trees. I graduated from that to an origami obsession. Then doodles, painting, wire sculpture, clay sculpture, polymer clay, paper craft, costuming, miniatures, ink, charcoals and stop-motion puppet building. I like to dabble. I eventually went to university for stop-motion animation. This jumble fluff of artistic interest led ultimately to the mixed media grab bag that is WhatTheWhatnots.
When my husband and right hand shop man, Eli, and I began dating, one of the first things we did together and bonded over was making a stuffed animal, the Spider Yeti, as is custom. We haven't stopped crafting skewed cute characters together, and that was ten years ago. I decided to open WhatTheWhatnots to share some of our creations with all of you and to help fund my animation projects.
About WhatTheWhatnots:
This shop is for all sorts of whatnottery! Right now, our focus is on lapel pins, figurines, and mini wall decorations. Our future plans for the shop include needle felted sculptures, whimsical lightboxes and hi-res prints. If you need something custom made, shoot us a message we will be happy to discuss it with ya! From time to time, you may even find that a surprise item or two has mysteriously slipped into the shop. Will it be a limited paint job run of one of Eli's figurines? Will it be one of my OOAK needle felted sculptures? Be sure to check back often. Ya never know when something will pop up here and leave ya saying "What the whatnots?!"
